I am immensely looking forward to marriage. Mostly, I can't wait to have a man who loves me for all that I am; a companion; someone to listen; someone to learn with; someone to love with all of my heart.
However, I have been thinking much about marriage. I don't want to make mistakes. I want desperately to have a 50th wedding anniversary. I pray about it often and that is mostly all I can do to prepare...besides getting the facts. This is something I ran across here that screams truth to me.
18. Marriage WILL NOT fix any of your problems. No, instead marriage will put a magnifying glass on how many problems you really have. We grow up carrying bags with our insecurities, fears, bad relationships, problems with our parents — you name it. Begin to ditch these bags now. Newly married and living in a small apartment is no place to store a luggage set full of shiz.
